这是购得铁艺门后最先要注意到的一点，铁艺门在搬运过程中应小心轻放，放置铁艺门的地方应是硬物不常碰到的地方，地方一经选定，就不应频繁变动，安装铁艺门的墙面还应保持平整，使铁艺门安装安稳、平实，若摇晃不稳，日久会使铁艺门产生轻微变形，影响铁艺门的使用寿命。

铁艺门是在户外使用的，户外环境经常是尘士飞扬，时间一久，门上就会落上很多灰尘，这些灰尘会影响门的色泽，还会破坏它的保护膜，因此应该定期用柔软的棉布擦拭门上的灰尘。对于铁艺门上的凹陷处和浮雕纹饰中的灰尘，则最好用细软羊毛刷来除尘。

铁艺门应安装在比较通风的地方，潮湿会使金属过早出现锈蚀，镀铬产生脱膜等，影响门的使用。如逢大雾天气，应用干棉布擦拭铁艺上的水珠。若逢雨天，应于雨停后及时把水珠擦干。

五、消除锈迹

如果铁艺大门生了锈，不要自作主张用砂纸打磨。锈迹较小较浅的，可用棉纱蘸机油涂于锈处，稍候片刻，用布揩擦便可消除锈迹。若锈迹已经扩大变重，则应请有关技术人员来维修。
